Civilizations Exhibits Holiday Collection at Christmas Connection Show

Cheryl Roetzer, artist and owner of Cleveland-based Civilizations, will feature her holiday collection of hand painted pottery at this year’s Christmas Connection at the Cleveland I-X Center, Nov. 19-21, 2010, booth #119.

Civilizations-Ornament-PlateCleveland’s Christmas Connection is an annual holiday show that features events, arts, crafts, gifts and the latest retails products from Northeast Ohio. Visit Facebook.com/Civilizations for a preview of the holiday collection, including hand painted plates, bowls, serving dishes and more.

Sponsored by Marc’s and Mickey Mart Stores, the show will feature entertainment from local high school choirs, a festival of trees, free children’s activities and costume characters. In addition, people of all ages have the chance to win cash prizes in the fourth annual gingerbread house contest.

Civilizations to Exhibit at 2010 Rocky River Fall Arts Festival

Cheryl Roetzer, artist and owner of Cleveland-based Civilizations, will feature her hand-crafted artwork at the second annual Rocky River Fall Arts Festival in the Old Detroit Road area of Rocky River, Ohio, on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., booth E2.

The festival features dozens of local artists. Cheryl will display a collection of original work, such as Civilizations mosaic crosses, photography, beaded jewelry, functional and decorative pottery, and handcrafted picture frames.

The festival is hosted by the Rocky River Parks and Recreation Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that administers the festival with the help of volunteers and the City of Rocky River.  A portion of the proceeds from this year’s festival will go to providing a scholarship to a graduating Rocky River High School student that will be attending an accredited school for art education.

The local sponsors who have contributed to this year’s festival, include: First Federal of Lakewood, Fairview Hospital, Sweet Melissa’s, 12five9, Howard Hanna Realtor Gloria Hardington, The Shops of Old River, Terrace Construction, Lakewood/ Rocky River Sunrise Rotary Club and Danny Boys.

Cleveland fine artist to feature ceramics, jewelry, custom frames and original photographs.

CIV Mosaic Mirror resized 600Cheryl Roetzer, owner of Cleveland-based Civilizations, will be among 200 fine artists exhibiting at the 18th annual Festival of the Arts on the Westlake Health Campus of St. John Medical Center, July 9-11, 2010, booth #230.

Cheryl will display a collection of original works, including: mosaic crosses, photography, beaded jewelry, functional and decorative pottery, and handcrafted picture frames.

Civilizations to Feature Handcrafted Ceramics, Mosaic Crosses, Original Photography at Festival of the Arts

 CLEVELAND — July 10, 2009 — Cheryl Roetzer, Civilizations’ founder, will join 200 fine artists at St. John West Shore Hospital’s Festival of the Arts, one of Cleveland's premier fine arts events, July 10 – 12, 2009. The Festival, now in its 17th year, will take place on the Westlake Health Campus, 29000 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake, Ohio.

Civilizations, booth 230, will feature handthrown pottery adorned with pendants, semi-precious gems and glass beads. Each piece is formed from raw clay using wheel throwing and handbuilding methods, handpainted using a variety of techniques and glazes, and fired in Civilizations’ home-studio kiln.

Functional and decorative pieces include: vases, vessels, dishes, flowerpots, bowls and jars.

Mosaic Crosses and Original Photographymosaic-cross

Civilizations will unveil a new collection of handcrafted mosaic crosses at the Festival. Each one-of-a-kind cross is constructed from raw clay and embellished with pendants and colored grout. [Visit Civilizations Etsy Shop to view and purchase mosaic crosses.]

Original photography also will be featured, including images from Greece, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Mexico. The images, which were captured by Cheryl over the last five years, are matted and framed.

About the Festival of Arts

The Festival will be held Friday, July 10 from 6 – 9 p.m., Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 12 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is free, but donations of non-perishable food products are encouraged. CLEVELAND - April 24, 2009 - Civilizations, a Cleveland-based fine arts studio, will be a featured artist at the VANITYLAB First Anniversary Festivus event, 7 - 9 p.m,Thursday, April 30, at VANITYLAB and the JW Dover Wi nery, 24945 Detroit Rd.

The Festivus event will celebrate VANITYLAB’s firs t anniversary and focus on customer appreciation, while continuing to fulfill its commitment to supporting local artists and charitable causes.

Civilizations joins 15 other local artists to showcase and sell works at the event, with five percent of all sale proceeds going to Wigs for Kids.

Civilizations Joins Artists' Colony at Grand Pacific Junction in Olmsted Falls

Local artist brings pottery, paintings and custom artwork to historic commercial district.

CLEVELAND — June 26, 2008 — Civilizations, a Cleveland-based fine arts studio, has joined the Artists’ Colony co-op gift shop, 8090 Columbia Rd.  Pottery, paintings and custom artwork from Civilizations can be found on the second floor of the historic Carriage House at Grand Pacific Junction.

The Artists’ Colony features gifts and original artworks from four of Civilizations’ collections: Ancients, Nature, Holiday and Celebrations.

Artists’ Colony patrons also can place custom orders for hand-painted, personalized pottery from Civilizations owner Cheryl Roetzer, which are popular gifts for weddings, newborns, birthdays and anniversaries.
